INTRODUCING OUR ARTISTS
Paul Stumkat
Natural History Artist and Palaeontologist

About Paul
With a background possessing 37 years experience in museum exhibition preparation, Paul has cultivated skills in taxidermy, sculpture and display construction. This has enabled him to partake in the production of innovative displays, accurate scientific models and the production of world class exhibitions. His experience of working in an accurate historical subject matter has been incorporated into many sculpture commissions for cities and rural shires.
Challenging mediums such as stone, steel and bronze incorporate his desire for quality and permanence, in contrast to our society's throw-away attitude. However plastics are regularly utilized to create special effects. All the chipping, sanding or casting and smelting of bronze takes place near the shade of Eucalypts with-in Paul's Killarney mountain studio.
Various awards for sculpture over the past 33 years have been presented to him. With major commissions awarded by institutions such as the Queensland Museum, National Parks and Wildlife, and the movie industry.
